AUTOMATING DEVOPS IN INSURANCE: A CASE STUDY OF CI/CD IMPLEMENTATION WITH MICRO-FRONTEND ARCHITECTURE

Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive analysis of DevOps pipeline automation implementation in a major insurance platform, demonstrating substantial reductions in deployment time and production incidents through the integration of AWS, Jenkins, and Kubernetes. Through a year-long case study of a Fortune 500 insurance provider's digital transformation, the strategic adoption of micro-frontend architecture across multiple customer-facing applications serving millions of daily transactions. The implementation achieved significant improvements, including dramatic reductions in deployment cycle duration while maintaining OWASP compliance and a pristine security record. By leveraging containerization and automated security scanning, the platform successfully processed billions in annual premium payments while achieving near-perfect uptime. This article provides empirical evidence that modern DevOps practices, when properly implemented with appropriate security controls, can dramatically improve both operational efficiency and system reliability in highly regulated insurance environments. Our findings offer a replicable framework for similar enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives, particularly in regulated industries requiring stringent security compliance.
