A STUDY ON CONTRAST ENHANCEMENT DETECTION TECHNIQUE BASED ON PEAK/GAP ANALYSIS

Contrast enhancement adjusts the brightness and contrast of the digital images. There need to detect contrast enhancement in order to verify authenticity and originality of images against image forgeries. There are different methods to detect contrast enhancement. Primary objective of contrast enhancement is to process a digital image based on contrast so that the enhanced image is more suitable than original image for specific application. Digital contrast enhancement techniques improves the visual quality of images but some malicious users make use of contrast enhancement or fake purposes. So there is need to detect contrast enhancement. In digital forensic areas, appropriate choice of detection technique is a big matter against malicious users. This paper will provide an overview of underlying concepts, along with algorithms important contrast enhancement detection techniques. The paper focuses on important contrast enhancement detection techniques both for compressed and uncompressed images.
